  1. We pick you up in Central Cusco at 7:20 am
  2. We make a stop for your Lunch break
  3. You arrive at 2.30 pm to Machu Picchu Hidroelectrica
  4. From Hidrolectrica you can either take a 30 minutes train to Aguas Calientes or walk 2/3 hours.
  5. If you walk, enjoy the amazing experience through the Machu Picchu surrounding landscapes!

What about the return to Cusco?

The travel is exactly the same but the other way round.

There are 2 departures from Machu Picchu Hidrolectrica:

  • 2.30pm → Arriving to Cusco at 9.30pm
  • 5:00pm →Arriving to Cusco at 23:55pm*

We suggest to leave Aguas Calientes by 11am if you want to book the 2:30pm service and by 1:30pm if you book the 5:00pm service.

*5:00pm service provided only from May to September

Our comfy minibuses

Peruways uses minibuses with a capacity of 20 passengers maximum. Each minibus is equipped with a GPS, air conditioning, reclining seats and insurance. The drivers have years of experience on these routes.

Peruways do not use buses with a capacity of  30-35 passengers as their are not convenient for these routes.

How is the trek or walk to Aguas Caliente?

Once you arrive to Machu Picchu Hidroelectrica, one of the first you will see is official welcome panel to the Machu Picchu protected area. There you start the incredible trek or mini inca trek for leading you straight into the heart of AguasCalientes. Make sure you follow the railway track for at least 2 to 3 hours for going in the right direction.

If you observe closely, after crossing a big metal railway bridge, you note that you can actually spot the Machu Picchu which is on your right, high up on a hill.

Now, isn’t that great? People who travel by train never get a glimpse of this amazing sight. This is because they arrive to the destination from the opposite direction. They also miss out on scenic landscapes and beautiful plant life.

In order to book your Cusco to Machu Picchu transport tickets, simply choose if you want an One way or Round-trip ticket,  the Departure/Returning date of your travel and select the city from/to where you are travelling.
