The Official Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 2 days 1 night is a shorter version of the 4 days 3 nights trek .
The Inca Trail is considered as one of the world’s oldest routes and one of the ten best hikes in the world. On this trek you will be able to follow part of the old traditional trail used by the Incas to reach Machu Picchu over hundreds of years. At the same time you will enjoy incredible sacred landscapes and you will be able to immerse within the mystic history of the Inca Empire.
As a reward the last day this mystic trek will end in Machu Picchu (visit included), the Inca citadel.

Day 1: Cusco – Wayllabamba – Aguas Calientes
Day 2: Aguas Calientes –Machu Picchu -Cusco

You will be picked up at your hotel in Cusco early in the morning at around 4am and you will be transferred to the train station and take the train to the famous Km. 104. This is departure point of your trek.
From there you will walk around 3 hours and you will stop on the way to visit the archaeological site of Chachabamba (2200 meters above the sea). Then you will continue your trek and will stop at the archaeological of Wiñaywayna (2600 meters above the sea). This place seems to be the home of the ancient priests of Machu Picchu.
You will continue your walk towards Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Village) through the Intipunku (The Sun Gate). In the Intipunku you will be able enjoy the amazing and panoramic landscapes of Machu Picchu.
Once arrive to Aguas Calientes you will have free time to your own or take a hot bath in the famous hot springs. Then you will have your dinner and stay there for the night on basic hotel (upgrade to superior hotel is possible on extra section before checkout).
After your breakfast you will start your walk towards the citadel of Machu Picchu. There you will be with a guide in order to enjoy a 2 hours guided visit of the citadel where you will learn about the secrets and history of this magic place. After the guided tour, you will have enough time to enjoy it on our own and take picture.
If you want and book in advance you will be able to hike the Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. Both mountain are an extra zone inside Machu Picchu (this extra access can be booked on the extra section before checkout).
In the afternoon you will go back to Aguas Calientes where you will take your lunch and then you will take your train to Ollantaytambo (18:20 or 19:00 train, subject to availabilities). In Ollantaytambo Station you will be collected and transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
