Explore the Titicaca lake, Uros floating islands and Taquile island with this full day tour package. You will be able to enjoy and explore the culture as no traveler do and you will feel the mystic of this legendary Inca Lake by meeting the local people living on the Uros and Taquile islands.
On this group tour you will be picked up you at your Hotel within Central Puno at around 6.45 – 7.15 am. A bilingual English and Spanish guide will be with you during the whole visit to the lake’s islands of Uros and Taquille.
Uros floating islands are a group of islands built completely from tortora reeds. The Uros is home of a small “pre-Inca period” community. There you will spend some time with the local residents in order to learn more how they live and why they live there.
Then you will go to the Taquile island where you will find people with a different “culture” than the other islands and the rest of Peru. The Taquile residents are closer to the Aymara culture (original people from Bolivia) than to the Incas.
There you can have a lunch and afterwards you will visit the local cooperative to meet the local weavers.
At the end of this fantastic day you will return to Puno by 5pm and you will be driven back to your hotel in Central Puno.
