PeruRail is the main operator on the Cusco–Machu Picchu line, and the ride is one of the great short rail trips in South America. The route drops out of the Andean plateau through the Sacred Valley gorge, running alongside the Urubamba past Ollantaytambo and the small trackside hamlets at km 82 (the start of the Classic Inca Trail), down to Aguas Calientes below the citadel.

PeruWays books across the full line-up. The Vistadome carries panoramic skylights for the Sacred Valley views. The Belmond Hiram Bingham is the premium service — vintage 1920s Pullman carriages, four-course meal, live music, open bar. Inca Rail runs a parallel operation (Voyager, 360°, First Class) from Ollantaytambo.

Onboard dining on the premium services carries Peruvian menus — Andean trout, quinoa, local cheeses, pisco cocktails. Guides on the Vistadome give context on the Sacred Valley geography as it passes outside the window.

Rail is one of three pieces: Peruways bundles the ticket with Machu Picchu entry and the Consettur shuttle up to the gate in a single checkout. Three government inventories, one confirmation email.
