1. Description of services
Peruways is a booking platform for authorized, official Machu Picchu entrance tickets and train tickets in Peru. We facilitate the booking process through real-time integration with the reservation systems of ticket-issuing operators and authorities.
We may also facilitate the booking of:
- Ground transportation (shuttles, vans, transfers)
- Bus tickets (Aguas Calientes shuttles, intercity bus)
- Tour packages and add-on services
We are not the operator of trains, buses, or the Machu Picchu citadel. Our role is limited to facilitating the booking and coordination of these services provided by third parties.
2. Booking process
- Bookings can be made through our website or with our customer service team.
- You must provide accurate passenger information at booking, including full legal name and passport number as they appear on your travel documents.
- Once payment is received, we issue e-tickets or booking confirmations by email.
- Many tickets (including Machu Picchu entrance and most train tickets) are nominative (name-bound) and cannot be transferred.
3. Pricing and payments
- Prices displayed on our website are in USD unless otherwise indicated at checkout.
- Displayed prices include all applicable taxes and our service fees.
- Our prices may include a service fee for our booking, coordination, and customer service - this is our own margin as a booking platform.
- Payment is processed at the time of booking through secure third-party payment processors.
- Accepted payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Apple Pay, and other methods displayed at checkout.
4. Passenger data & documentation
- Machu Picchu entrance tickets and most train tickets are nominative and issued in the name of each individual traveler.
- You must provide accurate passenger data at booking: full legal name (as on passport), passport number, nationality, date of birth.
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of passenger data provided.
- Errors in passenger data may result in denied entry or boarding - corrections after issuance may not be possible or may incur operator fees.
- Children (3-11 years) and infants (under 3) travel under specific operator policies, which we will apply at booking.
5. Cancellations, changes and refunds
- Once tickets are issued, they are generally non-refundable and non-changeable, per the operators' policies.
- Some tickets may allow modifications subject to operator fees - this is disclosed at booking where applicable.
- No refunds will be issued for missed departures, late arrivals, or failure to provide required travel documentation.
- If a service is cancelled by the operator, we will assist you in obtaining any refund available per the operator's specific terms.
6. Force majeure
Neither Peruways nor the ticket-issuing operators shall be liable for delays, cancellations, or service disruptions caused by force majeure events, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters, weather conditions, landslides, floods
- Political unrest, strikes, protests, road blockades
- Government orders, closures, or restrictions
- Pandemics or public health emergencies
- Any other event beyond our reasonable control
In such cases, refunds are subject to the specific operator's force majeure policy.
7. Third-party services
Trains, Machu Picchu citadel entrance, and other transportation services are provided by third-party operators. Peruways is not the operator of these services.
