Peruways books every tier of train to Machu Picchu — PeruRail and Inca Rail, Expedition through Vistadome, the 360° observation car and the Belmond Hiram Bingham at the top — in a single booking with your Consettur bus and timed entry.

Service levels

The Vistadome has panoramic windows and a glass roof — the one most travellers pick for the scenery. The Expedition is the budget option, same route, standard windows. The 360° observation car has an open-air platform at the back. The Belmond Hiram Bingham is the dining-car tier, from around US$950 round trip with brunch and a guided citadel visit included.

What you see

From Ollantaytambo (the usual departure point now) the track follows the Urubamba downstream for about 1h30, through a deepening gorge. Sit on the left heading down and the right coming back for the river views.

One booking

Reserve at Peruways and the Consettur bus and timed Machu Picchu entry are in the same confirmation — no three-operator shuffle. If a train runs late, Peruways handles the knock-on at the entry gate.

Dry-season timing

May to September is the busy season — book six to eight weeks ahead, especially around Inti Raymi (24 June). Lock the dates at Peruways before you book flights.
