Machu Picchu’s ticket system changed in 2021 and the four one-way circuits still catch travellers out. Peruways reserves the right circuit, the right time slot and any summit permits in a single booking.
Circuit 1 and 2 cover the upper city including the Guardian’s House viewpoint — the classic postcard framing. Circuit 3 covers the lower terraces, the Temple of the Condor, and gives access to the Machu Picchu Mountain climb. Circuit 4 is the shortest, lower-only. Peruways helps you pick before you book.
Entry is timed — a 1-hour window to enter, then up to 4 hours on-site. In the dry season (May–September) slots fill six to eight weeks ahead. Add-on permits for Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain cap at 400 per day each in two slots, and sell out earlier.
Reserve at Peruways and the train, Consettur bus and timed entry are in the same booking — one less thing to break if a train runs late.
