Machu Picchu runs discounted ticket categories for residents of Andean Community countries and for students, making the site more accessible to the people who live near it and to younger travelers.
The National ticket is reserved for residents of Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Bolivia. It gets you into Machu Picchu at a reduced rate, with the usual access to the site. Bring your national ID or passport proving residency.
Student tickets are available to anyone with a valid student card, regardless of nationality. Universities and schools qualify as long as the card is current. Bring the physical ID; a photo on your phone usually isn’t accepted.
