Ollantaytambo sits in the Sacred Valley and is one of the few places in Peru where you can still walk a working Inca-era town. The ruins above the plaza are the main draw, but the lower streets are themselves living Inca urbanism.

Peruways runs trips through Ollantaytambo covering the archaeological complex, the terraces, and the Temple Hill overlook, which gives you the valley and the Urubamba from above.

Beyond the ruins there is a strong market scene and traditional Andean cooking worth staying for. Most travelers also use Ollantaytambo as the launch point for Machu Picchu; the train station is a short walk from the plaza.

Peruways handles the arrangements. Explore Ollantaytambo at your pace.
