The two-day Inca Trail is the short version of the famous four-day trek — the same final-day approach to Machu Picchu, without the two preceding mountain-pass days. Peruways runs it as a guided itinerary.

The trek starts at Kilometre 104 of the Cusco–Machu Picchu rail line, reached by a short train ride from Ollantaytambo. From the trailhead you climb through cloud forest past Wiñay Wayna — a terraced site halfway up — before cresting the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) and dropping down into the citadel at sunset light.

Peruways’ guides are Ministry of Culture-licensed and cover the archaeology along the trail — the staging posts, the terraces, the Inca road engineering — and the context of the sites you reach.

Night in Aguas Calientes after the Day One descent, then a full guided tour of Machu Picchu on Day Two.

Permits are capacity-controlled; Peruways applies on your behalf. Book several months ahead for high season.
