From Cusco the Sacred Valley is a two-hour descent into the Urubamba watershed — lower, warmer, and the agricultural heartland of the former Inca empire. Peruways runs transfers and guided day trips. The route out of Cusco drops through Chinchero (worth a stop for its weaving cooperative and Sunday market), then on to Urubamba, Yucay, Pisac, and Ollantaytambo. Each has its own character: Pisac for the artisan market and hilltop ruins, Ollantaytambo for the terraced fortress and the still-living Inca street grid. Smaller stops add the circular agricultural terraces at Moray, the salt pans at Maras, and village weaving workshops. Peruways books transfers by shared van, private car, or guided tour.
