You don’t have to hike to reach Machu Picchu. The train-and-shuttle route — train from Cusco or Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, then the 25-minute shuttle bus up to the ruins — covers the full journey with no walking required beyond the citadel itself.

Peruways books across both operators (PeruRail and Inca Rail) and every service class, from Expedition economy to the Hiram Bingham luxury train. The shuttle bus is a separate ticket but runs continuously from early morning.

For travelers with mobility concerns, the citadel itself is still uneven stonework and stairs, but the main viewpoints and most of Circuit 1 are reachable without the harder climbs.

Guided tours through Peruways are available in English, Spanish, and other languages on request. Peruways also handles acclimatisation nights in Cusco or the Sacred Valley before the ruins day. Book your trip through Peruways.
